ABOUT US
Welcome to Risingfriend German Shepherd's my name is Michelle Friend and my Husband's name is Aaron Friend. My first passion in life was horses i rode for 13 year's a number of horses until i came across a 15 hh palomino called Kali who without a doubt was an absolutely fantastic horse we were together for 5 year's we done everything together and went everywhere together competing at many many show's including show-jumping and cross-country.I was never really into the dressage side of thing's i was always wanting the more daring exciting side of the jump's.We won many competions together coming away with rosettes and trophy's.As a young girl living at home with my parent's we have alway's owned dog's my whole life i have been surrounded by animals, mum and dad owned an ex- racer greyhound two king charles spaniels and my beloved Ben who i alway's thought of as my own but when we lost him to cancer for many year's after i had never wanted another dog.It was then that i met Aaron who had lost a gsd at a very old age that i began to learn about the Gsd's and i admired how they were such a loving, loyal family companions.I particularly liked the longcoated German Shepherd's.We have been fortunate as a family to be living in a house set in 35 acre's of land based in Surrey with our 3 children, 3 cat's,2 Rabbits,1 Chinchilla some chickens and now our 4 Gsd's.After searching for many many month's for a particular breeder who we were satisfied with that could give us the type of family pet dog we were looking for with a fantastic temperament being our main priority we finally came across Kate Hearne of Stormlake German Shepherd's based in Essex.Soon we were to own our two stunning lad's Red our sable boy and Rooney our black and tan boy.It is owning these two stunning lads that has given me the drive and ambition in life to owning more such wonderful Gsds. Our Dog's enjoy a very fulfilling lifestyle of plenty of walk's and socialising and are trained regularly also going to a training class every week.Occasionally i may show them at Gsd Rally's/walcss but my main priority is that they live a very happy, fulfilling family life with us and in which they are also adored by our children.
All of our dog's are also fed on Raw food.
ALL our dog's are from KC Registered,Hipscored and Health tested parents and in which all of our own dog's will have these particular tests done also.
My aim for the future is at the moment i am currently doing training courses with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour and i hope to one day become a qualified training instructor also to hopefully one day become a qualified canine beautician and to have my own buisness.
I have also attended the Kennel club's "conformation and movement" Seminar also being handed a certificate on completing the course.
I am also extremley pleased to say that i have also passed the Kennel club's "Hand's on Assessment"again with being given a certificate on completion!!This was held in Addlestone and assessed by Steven Bardwell.

Here you can see me at an event with my old horse Kali this was one of the biggest event's we competed in.
This picture above was one of the proudest days of my life.My son was doing a topic at school about pets and i was asked to bring Red and Rooney in to meet the children, not only was i chuffed to have been asked to bring the boy's into the school and that they were absolutely fantastic in the classroom my son had to stand up in front of the whole class and tell everyone how we look after them and what we feed them etc he new exactly what to say and i was one proud mum.
